Can I retire on Social Security? How much will Social security pay me? How much more will I need above Social Security to live in in retirement?
These questions are topics of articles beyond counting and still they are unanswered questions for millions of Americans.
There is no reason for that. First, the SS administration sends an annual statement to eligible Americans each year.
SSA currently mails Social Security Statements to workers age 60 and over who aren’t receiving Social Security benefits and do not yet have a “my Social Security account.” They mail the Statements three months prior to your birthday.
Other workers can generate a statement after setting up a mySocialSecurity account.
In addition, anyone can calculate their estimated benefits using one of several online Social Security calculators.
