Politico.com is reporting that the White House expects health care reform talks to go into February and not be finalized until after the State of the Union address.
There appears to be growing discontent in the House over what is or is not part of the Senate bill.

The House and Senate bills really have some vast differences (and I think the House reps have every right to be angry in thinking their stuff is going to be jettisoned in favor of passing a bill, ANY bill). I’m pretty angry about all the “bribes” offered, particularly as here in Illinois, our votes are so taken for granted we get squat. And there is a “supermajority” provision tucked in there saying, essentially, the “rationing board” cannot be overturned by future Congresses except by some insane number, which i cannot believe is constitutional. (I read earlier today that Sarah Palin is really highlighting that little goodie.) And in the meanwhile, there’s only a little talk about consumer driven health plans and how they can help lower insurance costs. Noted experts Mark Gaunya and Jennifer Al Borislow have written “Bend the Health Care Trend” which is all about CDHP and how they work for employers and employees. You learn how you can save money on your health insurance costs.
