The government’s new website to help Americans understand the PPACA and ultimately to learn more about health insurance options is up and running. I have only started to explore it, but there is much of general value, including links to CMS hospital quality information and general information about PPACA. The problem is that they frequently use the concept of your health care interchangeably with your health insurance, which of course, are quite different things.
Welcome to HealthCare.gov

HealthCare.gov launches today. It’s a website designed to help you take control of your health care – by putting the power of information at your fingertips.
It’s the first website to collect both public and private health insurance options across the nation in a single place. Even better, our insurance options finder automatically sorts through this huge catalog of options to help you identify the ones that may be right for you.
Other highlights of the site include extensive information about your rights as a consumer, how to navigate the health insurance marketplace, and how the Affordable Care Act can help you – all tailored to you.
We’re proud of all the hard work that’s gone into the site in the last 90 days, but there’s plenty more to come. And you have a big role to play.
Throughout the site you’ll find yellow boxes that ask you to tell us whether or not you find a given page helpful. Tell us what you like, what you don’t, what’s missing, and what we can do to improve. We’re listening. This is your site, not ours. With your help, we’ll make HealthCare.gov even better.
To get started, you can take a quick video tour of the site.
I answered a few questions to find a health plan in my state, one question was, “Is it difficult for you to afford health insurance?” I answered NO, but one of the options I was given to explore was Medicaid..go figure. Premiums for the various health plans will be added in the future to
I have to say one thing it appears well designed and definitely does not look like a typical government site.
