HHS shuts off applications under ERRP

To date Health and Human Services has reimbursed 1500 employers $1.5 billion under the Early Retire Reimbursement Program which is part of PPACA. Based on the number of approved applications and the projected reimbursements, HHS is cutting off new applications May 5th. Employers who have not submitted applications by then are out of luck.

Funds received by employers are to be used to sustain early retiree health benefits and may be used in a variety of ways including a proportional reimbursement to retirees.
