When a CEO gets the bums rush

As reported by Bloomberg.com the President has found yet another scapegoat for his economic ineffective travails.

“We’re not where we need to be; we’re not there yet; you saw that in today’s jobs report,” the president said at a Chicago fundraiser, the fourth of six yesterday in the Midwest. “A lot of that’s attributable to Europe and the cloud that’s coming over from the Atlantic. The whole world economy has been weakened by it, and it’s having an impact on us.”

I’ve lost count of the number of blame targets of this Administration. It seems every time something does not go as promised the finger of guilt is pointed everywhere except at the policies and legislation we have followed the last 1,250 days.

CEOs only get to blame predecessors, circumstances and things beyond their control for so long and then it’s “give some new ideas a chance” time. Why should our politicians be held to a lessor standard?

  1. I can’t agree with you on this one. The President is not the main one to blame when you have a congress that has been fairly ineffective from day one. He has had to fight for just about everything that has been accomplished and he has often had to act unilaterally. So while I can’t say he has been perfect I do think he has labored hard to achieve what has been accomplished and in the case of Europe he is very much a victim although I do think he and Geitner are trying to get things done in the background to mitigate what is a very serious malaise that affects all of Europe

    1. I think you are letting him off easy. Other Presidents figured out ways to deal with Congress, even Bush to some extent and people like Johnson or Clinton did it. This President seems more focused on ideology and relies on the blame game. It takes two parties to compromise not just one caving in.

  2. I don’t understand many of your opinions, but I’m slowly learning by reading ’em over a few times. I entered society from a vocational high school, a valueless education, basically. Got a better one from 22 years in the navy. I do agree with you, that many retirees should not be getting the amount(s) they are, and I’d be willing to take a cut when the men and women take a cut (I’m home safe with that one, right?).
Despite the lack of a formal education, I’ve learned to spell and enjoy proofreading material, even that which I fail to comprehend. Ergo, politicians held to a ‘lesser’, not ‘lessor’ standard.

    1. Sometimes these iPads have a mind if their own when it comes to inserting words, but more time spent on proof reading is warranted.
