I am in Chatham Mass listening to a talk radio show, a conservative talk radio show. They are talking about the new Obamacare 3.8% tax on the sale of a home beginning next year.
The hosts are displaying an ignorance of their topic beyond belief or they are intentionally lying to their listening audience.
Their claim the tax is on any real estate sale is false. Even upon supposedly checking and finding it is on the net gain or profit on such sale they still mislead by not mentioning there is a tax free $500,000 exclusion on such profit for most couples.
But most important, they never mention that the tax only applies under any circumstances to individuals earning more than $200,000 and couples earning more than $250,000. In other words less than 4% of Americans.
Such conservative “thinkers” provide no value and indeed make the case for some progressives that conservatives are nothing but a bunch of uninformed boobs. In this example I have to agree with them.
