DONT FORGET TO VOTE IN OUR LATEST POLL
The United States spends a lot of money on health care, we all know that. Here are some statistics from different sources (with different results), including the spending per capita for each state. A wide variation among countries is understandable, but take a look at the differences among the states.
Massachusetts, that model for health care reform, has the highest spending except for D.C. Are its citizens sicker, do they receive better health care, is it because of the extensive medical facilities available? Why is spending in Alabama about the same as California and both more than 30% less than Massachusetts?
Are we getting our money’s worth? Does where you live determine the quality of health care you receive? Does high cost have anything to do with high quality or is the opposite possibly true?
I don’t have the answers, but these are the issues we should be concerned about.
