The press is widely reporting a SOCIAL SECURITY increase of 1.5% for 2014. The problem is the CPI-W for September, the key number to calculate the COLA has not been released and because of the government shutdown may not be released as scheduled this week.
One thing is pretty certain though the increase will be less than 2% and probably a bit more than 1.5%.
