If you live in the New York area your television is barraged with commercials for the New York health insurance marketplace. The key words are “low cost.” Of course, low cost is a relative term so I wanted to see what they meant. No luck; unlike healthcare.gov which has been fixed to allow you to see plans and total premiums without opening an account, New York does not make the information available without an account.
In addition, they do their best to make it even more difficult to open an account by using log on codes or whatever you call those annoying things. I don’t know if the plans are low cost or not, but I do know I can’t figure out what to enter to gain access. What is the big secret anyway?
