This op-ed in the NYT says it very well in my opinion. Israel has it’s own problems with extremists with minds closed to the plight of the Palestinians.
The 1947 UN resolution called for two states, one Jewish and one Arab. If that had been allowed to happen, (five Arab states invaded the area immediately upon implementation) maybe this mess would not exist today.
Surely there is enough land among Israel and it’s neighbors to form a Palestinian state. What is stopping it?


There are factions in the Middle East (and elsewhere) that want nothing less than the destruction of the State of Israel and the anihilation of the Jewish people. They don’t value the sanctity of life and will allow civilians to act as human shields. Does that begin to answer your question?
