How to deal with ISIS and other Middle East problems?
There is a one word strategy … Oil‼️
The financial ability to do what the extremists do comes largely from oil revenue. We are now being told that ISIS is gaining millions of dollars daily selling black market oil from Iraqi oil fields.
Selling to who⁉️
Cut the oil revenues and you defund terrorists. That seems a fairly logical long term strategy doesn’t it? One would think the Keystone pipeline would be part of that strategy.
In other words Mr Obama, a strategy is a plan of action or policy to achieve a specific aim. A strategy takes time to execute which means a strategy needs to be in place sooner rather than later.
Energy independence and environmentally friendly energy sound good, but now we need a solid strategy that is linked to our security and to cutting resources for targeted groups. How long have we been told that our wars in the Middle East have been about oil? Well now our security and the security of much of the world is about oil.
Our aggressive strategy should be to immediately cut off the oil market for ISIS and to get other countries to seek other sources for oil. Destroy ISIS controlled fields? And or course to reduce as much as possible our use of mid-east oil. Needless to say that strategy must include China.
I am not sufficiently knowledgeable to know all the answers, but other people are and I can’t believe those people have not already thought about this.
I wish they would tell our President. He is looking for a strategy.

The Keystone pipeline will be used to convey dirty tar sands oil from Canada to be refined in Port Arthur, Texas in Koch Brothers owned refineries and then entirely exported to China. No benefits will accrue to the US unless you count the 35 permanent jobs to ultimately be created. It will endanger the Oglala Aquifer and invaluable Midwest crop lands because all pipelines do leak. There is no connection whatsoever with that ill-fated proposal and the crisis in the Middle East. Get your facts straight.

The strategy to minimize the oil from the Middle East is not limited to the US use so if you are correct that all the oil goes to China doesn’t that mean Chine is less dependent on Middle East oil?
