There seems to be general disgust with this election. People complain about secret money, attack ads, misleading statements and more … all are valid observations. My favorite in the NY area is an ad repeating endlessly that the opponent is full of Bologna and using artwork looking suspiciously like the logo of a major meat company. I have heard none approaching an intelligent comment on any topic of substance.
As if this insult to our intelligence wasn’t bad enough, what is far worse is that these ads are effective which in my view doesn’t say much positive about voters.

If voters are so gullible and uninformed that they don’t question the substance or accuracy of misleading or simply inaccurate claims, shame on them. This age of instant information makes it easy for the followers to spread nonsense; just look at the stuff posted on Facebook.
The shame is that people don’t take the time to check out the claims and substance behind the buzzwords and bullshit. Some of the claims defy logic and yet they are readily accepted and worse, passed along to others as fact.
“Americans over age 76 are going to be rejected for health care.”, “Members of Congress receive their pay for life.” “Every single Republican voted against equal pay for women.”, “Employers deny women health care.” “He voted to cut veterans pension.”
Com’on folks, a little common sense; please‼️

I have too many friends who will believe and share everything they see on Facebook! I have probably lost a few of these ‘friends’ because I do try to fact check and I share with them what I find. Some would rather believe the outrageous posts than to be shown otherwise!Sadly, social media will play a huge part in this and future elections.People will vote according to what they read in Facebook memes.
