Just a reminder for those who didn’t have health insurance in 2014 as required by Obamacare, don’t sweat it.
Seems strange to say I know and I’m certainly not telling you to break the law, but the reality is that the IRS will largely rely on just what you declare on your tax return and it doesn’t have the resources to do much else. In addition, there are numerous exceptions to those who are required to carry insurance coverage.
Finally; worst case scenario if you get caught and are fined the IRS can’t apply all its normal collection techniques, but rather can only take what you owe from any tax refund you may be entitled to and their right to do that expires in ten years. Soooooo, make sure you plan ahead an don’t have a refund due.
Crazy right, another law that can’t really be enforced.

Hey, don’t get me wrong I think everyone should have health insurance for their own protection and as an obligation to society (if you need care, you will get it and others will pay). And, if you have no other better options, you should get the best deal possible through a Obamacare exchange. It’s in your own best interest.
