Up to 20% of tax filers—or about 30 million—who weren’t insured for most or any of last year likely will request and virtually automatically receive an exemption from the penalty. Numerous exemptions can be applied for during the tax-filing process.
What a law‼️ The penalties that aren’t and the coverage gap that leaves some people making too much for Medicaid and too little to be eligible for Obamacare subsidies.
I wonder how many Americans are not taking advantage of the insurance exchanges simply because they are misinformed or blindly opposed to the law?
I guess it’s a good thing nobody read the ACA before it became law.

I think that the government forcing people to get insurance or else face a penalty is wrong..what if a person cannot afford insurance..even with 0 premium..the deductible on those are very high..so why use the insurance..if u still have to dish out money…i think that it is up to a person or persons whether or not they want health insurance..not the government..its bad enuf they stick their noses into issues that are private..like women’s reproductive rights..to choose..why cant they focus on more important things like the hunger facing millions of women and children…stopping the horrendous executions of innocents by ISIS..

That’s all fine, but if a person without health insurance gets ill or injured, who pays for their care. In addition, low income people not only get subsidized premiums, they also get help with deductibles and co payments as well.
