Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) is announcing her retirement on Monday, according to The Washington Post and CNN.
Mikulski has served in the U.S. Senate since 1987, and before that, was elected to the House of Representatives in 1976. She has been in Congress longer than any other woman, and was the first woman to head the Senate Appropriations Committee.
I know nothing about this Senator, she is probably a nice lady. However, no politician should be making this kind of career out of public office. Nearly forty years in all!
And whose fault is it? The voters, of course who generally just keep re-electing the familiar name on the ballot.
This is why we need term limits.


Exactly right, Mr. Quinn! I applaud you! Even “the big lie” Canadian senator from Texas, Ted Cruz, advocates term limits! That is, no doubt, a once in a lifetime three-way agreement!
