Five years ago today, the president signed Obamacare into law. Within hours, Liberty University went to court filing a lawsuit to stop that failed law. Instead of the joblessness, instead of the millions forced into part-time work, instead of the millions who’ve lost their health insurance, lost their doctors, have faced skyrocketing health insurance premiums, imagine in 2017 a new president signing legislation repealing every word of Obamacare.
Imagine health care reform that keeps government out of the way between you and your doctor and that makes health insurance personal and portable and affordable.
Senator Ted Cruz

Talk about imagine, these and other claims by Cruz are imaginary.
Don’t swallow this stuff, it is at best misleading and at worst there are outright lies. I know and I hope you know it’s pure political rhetoric aimed at a specific friendly audience. He will never sign legislation repealing Obamacare because there will never be such legislation, nor should there be.
Better Cruz and others give us a specific list of changes to make the Affordable Care Act work better and more efficiently.

Well said, Mr. Quinn and here is an interesting assessment of his citizenship status:

There never has been a definition of naturally born citizen. However, most experts agree that a child born of a U.S. Citizen in another country is a citizen by birth and thus is not naturalized. John McCain was born in Panama for example. If this were not the case any child born to military parents serving around the world would never be eligible to be president. That doesn’t seem like a fair intent.

Agreed, but if you watch this video, it is highly doubtful that Cruz’s parents completed the proper prescribed process to make him a legitimate citizen. I think an investigation is in order to stop this political terrorist immediately.

Not to worry, he will never be president.

Agreed again, Mr. Quinn. But then you also posted that no presidential candidate in 2016 would ever run on repealing the PPACA. Isn’t it interesting that Cruz lost his health insurance under his wife’s coverage when she took an unpaid leave of absence from Goldman Sachs to help with his campaign and then this son of a Communist who fought with Castro has enrolled in “Obamacare” aka PPACA that he has been fighting to repeal during his entire tenure in Washington? There is a picture of Ted Cruz in the dictionary under the word hypocrisy.

He had no choice but to enroll in an exchange plan because the morons in Congress in a ridicules effort to appease voters made the exchanges the employer plan for member of congress with the regular employer contribution. He did what anyone would do when a spouse lose coverage, but it’s a bit ironic I admit.

I don’t know what Ted Cruz’s parents did or did not, but here are the rules from the U.S. State Department. Failure to follow them does not stop the child from being a citizen, but complicates the documentation process.
A child born abroad to a U.S. citizen parent or parents may acquire U.S. citizenship at birth if certain statutory requirements are met. The child’s parents should contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate to apply for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America (CRBA) to document that the child is a U.S. citizen. If the U.S. embassy or consulate determines that the child acquired U.S. citizenship at birth, a consular officer will approve the CRBA application and the Department of State will issue a CRBA, also called a Form FS-240, in the child’s name.
According to U.S. law, a CRBA is proof of U.S. citizenship and may be used to obtain a U.S. passport and register for school, among other purposes.
The child’s parents may choose to apply for a U.S. passport for the child at the same time that they apply for a CRBA. Parents may also choose to apply only for a U.S. passport for the child. Like a CRBA, a full validity, unexpired U.S. passport is proof of U.S. citizenship.
Parents of a child born abroad to a U.S. citizen or citizens should apply for a CRBA and/or a U.S. passport for the child as soon as possible. Failure to promptly document a child who meets the statutory requirements for acquiring U.S. citizenship at birth may cause problems for the parents and the child when attempting to establish the child’s U.S. citizenship and eligibility for the rights and benefits of U.S. citizenship, including entry into the United States. By law, U.S. citizens, including dual nationals, must use a U.S. passport to enter and leave the United States.

With all due respects, Mr. Quinn, Ted Cruz is in no way whatsoever required to select PPACA insurance rather than private market coverage. He is free to buy his own policy from any insurance company he chooses. He chose “affordable” health care instead to save money, as have 16 million plus Americans. He has dedicated his short Senate term to repealing the PPACA which he now finds very attractive for his own family. In short, “Obamacare is a train wreck” unless it helps me. In the dictionary under “Hypocrisy”, you will find his picture.

He is an employee of the government like millions of other people. They all get health benefits highly subsidized by their employer. For some bizarre reason Congress decided that even though they would still get their employer contribution toward premiums, they could no longer enroll in the federal employees health benefits plan, but had to select an area exchange plan which in many cases is the same insurance company. Why would he or any employee buy their own coverage and lose employer contribution? On the other hand this all points out the nonsense of part of his argument against Obamacare. Whether or not you buy coverage through an employer, on an exchange or privately it’s all the same health insurance. The main difference is simply who pays what for the insurance.
