I was listening to a radio talk show this morning and a man called with a question. He said he was heavily invested in REITS because they provided a high return and he liked the income. He then said that these investments had a negative earnings per share.
The show’s host asked why he was invested in anything with negative earnings per share? “Because the return is good,” the caller repeated. “You do realize there is substantial risk in this investment?” the host asked, “but what is your question?”
“What are REITS invested in?” asked the caller

REITS are Real Estate Investment Trust. They are investments in Real Estate that produces income. Any one investing should know what they are investing in, or shouldn’t be investing.
