Excellent suggestions. To which my late great mother could have added a dozen more. My two favorites for their eccentricity: after using a paper towel, if it is still whole, rinse it out and put it on a rack to dry for reuse. And, after thinking the last of the toothpaste is gone out of the tube, put it on the floor and step on the side near the opening and one or two more portions are available.
