As many people know, sometimes using health insurance can be frustrating – despite the fact the great majority of claims go through without a hitch.

Federal laws attempt to protect patients. If you need help with unexpected medical bills, your first action should be calling whomever sent you a bill, if that does not resolve the problem, call your insurer. Finally, know you rights under the law.
