We now have two months of the CPI-W used in the COLA calculation for 2024 – July and August.
Once the September CPI-W is reported on October 13, we will have the final COLA percentage.
The 2024 COLA could be 3%
July and August 2023 are the first two months of the third quarter that actually count in the 2024 COLA calculation
* 300.725 – ** 291.90) / 291.90 x 100 = 3.023 to the nearest 1/10 of 1 percent = 3.0%
At this point it is unlikely that there will be a significant change in the above percentage.
