The first three of sixteen factors from David Bach. Do they sound familiar? They should as I have been harping on these for years.
Anyone who tells you a budget is essential or necessary to determine how much you can save is bonkers.
Set up automatic saving and investing for:
emergency fund,
retirement fund
and general investing…just do it‼️
I have been saving and investing for 72 years including twenty years before my employer had a 401k. Small amounts in many years for sure, but keep going and it keeps growing.
Don’t end a month with an unpaid credit card bill.
1. Always spend less than you make – your life will be much easier and less stressful.
2. Pay yourself first – at least an hour a day of your income – you’re going to work 90,000 hours over your lifetime you should keep at least an hour a day of your income.
3. Don’t budget – you’re too busy, and you will just get frustrated and fail–instead automate your financial life. When it’s automatic you can’t fail.
