It was easier in the old days‼️ Really?

A couple raised six sons in this small house. Five of them slept in one room growing up. There is one closet in the house which is in the living room. One bedroom is six by seven feet in size and the kitchen is about the same. The owner worked 80 hours a week to provide for his family in the late 19th and early 20th century. All six children were successful in life, one extremely successful.

This is where much of America came from.

This is where Dwight David Eisenhower grew up in Kansas

  1. Very interesting! Eisenhower was truly a great man: a great general and a great president! He epitomizes the heights to which Americans can reach! Thank you so much, Richard!

  2. Not just where America came from. Many Americans are still there. That house looks like a mansion compared to all of the rentals we lived in growing up.

  3. I visited his home and museum/library in Abilene KS. Eisenhower quoted, “The proudest thing I can claim is that I am from Abilene.” The country knew this man was great based upon his achievements as the Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forces in WWII. The home was open for tours in 1947 (amazing), immediately after his mother passed away in 1946. It was preserved as is.
