In his acceptance speech, Donald Trump said:
I am going to protect Social Security and Medicare. Democrats are going to destroy Social Security and Medicare because all of these people, by the millions, they’re coming in. They’re going to be on Social Security and Medicare and other things and you’re not able to afford it. They are destroying your Social Security and your Medicare.
That is absolutely false!
Of course, the “these people” he is referencing are illegal immigrants who are not eligible for either program.
Working illegal immigrants do pay around $13 billion a year in Social Security payroll taxes and additional amounts to Medicare.

Border and Customs say 9 million including got aways since 2021. The border is a sieve and we all know it.
Trump campaign had no Russian involvement. What exactly did the Russians do? Precincts where they stuffed ballot no boxes? Did they intimidate voters? Sounds like claims Trump made about “stolen ” election.

Biden had purloined papers all over the place. Home, office, and some college location. Remember, we were told he knew nothing. We learned he made them available to his biographer in 2018. Got paid $8 million for his best seller. How did he get documents out of sciff when a senator? They found those in his treasure trove.
All this time we all thought dementia Joe wasn’t charged because Hua said he was too old and frail. This made his supporters angry and are fighting like hell to keep the audio tapes from being released. I guess we are all misguided.

SSA has a similar time frame to correct records as Internal Revenue has on looking back on returns. Three years three months and 15 days after the year in question. They have a laundry list of reasons they can use to go back further. If not applicable they keep the money.

Brother Quinn, he didn’t specify illegal or those who will be lawfully admitted. So don’t shout lie. Also the requirements for SSI are somewhat different than traditional SS benefits. I know the funding stream is not coming out of the same pocket but ultimately it comes from the taxpayers. As you well know the government doesn’t have any money, it’s all on the taxpayers dime. We don’t know the future status or how many of these folks will be let stay, I’m guessing all except a handful of the most ghoulish criminals.
Your estimate of 13 billion is only that a guess, we don’t know how many are working and paying taxes or working under the table or how much is being spent on supporting them in the first years here. So I will refrain from shouting “lie” at you.
This discussion is pointless right now since we don’t know how many, at what cost, what future benefits will be granted, and what will be paid by the immigrants themselves.

per usual our politicians will say about anything to get elected so if Trump’s claim is legitimate or not I have no clue. I heard him yesterday and fact checkers will have a field day. I consider these exaggerated facts benign. I weigh them against some serious stuff:
Russian collusion that sent us into a 3 year national convulsion.
denying the border was an open sieve.
telling us inflation was “transitory “
Antony Blinken getting 51 former security advisers and analysts to tell us Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinformation. It was just prior to the 2020 election.
of course the biggest of all is the current lie that our leader is cognitively just fine. In private he ran circles around his staff. He is in charge and making all decisions. He deserves another 4 years.
Now they want to jettison the senile old coot, not for the well being of the country, but their lust for power is primary.
so Trump will exaggerate and lie but he’s a politician and I expect it. But the lies of the last 4 years are quite something and proven dangerous.

“…the border was an open sieve.” is hyperbole at best. It’s not an invasion. There is no invading army, and no evidence that other countries are clearing out their prisons and asylums.
Inflation was really bad (worldwide) for about a year. It would have been bad no matter who was president.
Hunter’s laptop is still irrelevant.
Trump is not just a liar, he is a felon. Others have gone to prison for years for taking just a few classified documents. Others have gone to prison BECAUSE of crimes they committed with “Individual One”, several of whom, ironically, were pardoned by that same individual.
If America believes in law and order, Trump should be in prison already. He might actually be able to shoot someone on Fifth Avenue without losing supporters, but he still needs to go to jail for it.
Biden, even in his present condition, arguably has the best chance of defeating Trump. I wish him well.

Russian collusion was a hoax as the Steele dossier was full of lies. It was paid for by the Hillary campaign and they paid a fine to the Federal Election commission.
8 million illegals show up with little or no documentation and now reside nation wide thanks to Desantis and Texas governor.

The $13 billion is an estimate not a guess. It comes from the SSA and is based on payroll taxes that cannot be assigned to a valid SS account because the SS number used is not valid. The number has been fairly consisted for several years. You must be a citizen to collect benefits or be working legally in a few cases.
