His post is not articulated well and is misleading for people who don’t understand how the system works, but technically he isn’t really wrong. What I’m sure you know he is trying to say is that someone on Medicare who doesn’t have a lot of money can get all of their medical covered through an advantage plan that has no additional premium beyond what is charged for Part B ($185 in 2025). He’s right, but the thought and post is jumbled.
I just went through this with a relative who doesn’t have the money for Part B, a separate Medigap plan and Part D. Medicare Advantage certainly has its downsides and in a perfect world is not usually preferred, but for some it is the best (and perhaps only) option.
You are, however, absolutely correct that people shouldn’t be getting their information from social media.

well, believe it or not, I do know people my age who take no medication and only go for an annual checkup. I don’t know what coverage they do have but from 65 to nearly 80 it has been an inexpensive ride. My story is different, I make good use of Part D and a supplement plan.
