The Social Security Administration receives billions in free money each year from an unexpected source: undocumented immigrants.
This group paid an estimated $25.7 billion in Social Security taxes in 2022, according to a recent analysis from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, a left-leaning tax research group. Since unauthorized workers cannot collect retirement and other Social Security benefits without a change to their immigration status, the billions they pour into the program effectively act as a subsidy for American beneficiaries.
President-elect Donald J. Trump has vowed to carry out the nation’s largest mass deportation program to date, and restrict legal pathways to immigration. It’s hard to predict whether the incoming administration will be able to follow through with its most aggressive promises, among them sending home the estimated 11 million undocumented workers currently in the United States.
But if the White House does follow through, economists project a broad drag on the economy — and it could cost Social Security roughly $20 billion in cash flow annually, according to actuaries at the Social Security Administration.

Serious question. If they are undocumented and paying in – aren’t they committing fraud by using another persons social security number? The contributions have to matched, I assume.

Don’t you love the term “undocumented”–the lefties hate to tell us we are talking about illegal immigrants–the Constitution, I believe, refers to them as “aliens” –our politically correct lefties have but 3 days left.
Come legally or not at all!
This ain’t rocket science–obey the law–the law sets limits on guns in various states–the law says you can drive a car with a license and insurance in various states–the law says men (why just men??) register for the draft at age 18–vote at age 18–buy booze at age 21. You get the point!
Who cares what they pay into SS–if folks are not here legally they might need to go–I was checking out at Stop & Shop a number of years ago and the cashier I learned was from El Salvador–asking about folks coming to ES illegally she told me it is not tolerated. Made sense to me. I never thought I could walk into Ireland and just stay.

and perhaps if they were removed, some who are at home in their parent’s basement would get off their duff, and others off the dole, and generate even greater SS taxes while costing taxpayers less in unemployment, welfare, Medicaid, general assistance, free rent, and other entitlements. Let’s give it a try and see how it goes without the illegal labor driving down wages.

Nonsense. Illegals to be removed are those who are committing crimes.

Really? Vance said they plan one million deportations a year.

What will actually happen is the criminals will be 1st and maybe
they get 500 ,000 to a million.
That will coincide with a million that have lost their court case to stay but have refused to leave.
Right now his last executive order seems to be most effective. Just think if the corpse had this last executive order as his first. We might be talking a whole different story right now. Wonder why he waited until 1st quarter 2024?
What a mess they made trying to turn red states purple and then blue.
