I read Truth Social, Facebook, X and Threads every day. I like to keep current on what people are saying and what they believe.
Most of the time I wish I hadn’t read a post.
If the people who post on these sites are even close to representing the majority of Americans and beyond, we are in serious trouble.
The ignorance, lies and misinformation are incredible. The lack of factual information, gullibility and naivety is downright frightening.
The topic doesn’t matter much. Politics, taxes, health insurance, government, the cost of health care, Social Security, Medicare, debts, deficits, global issues, all are written about with a great lack of factual knowledge.
People seem to believe whatever they are told and want to believe. Even after a falsehood is refuted it continues to be repeated.

This ignorance may have always been with us. Maybe social media just puts it on display for anyone to see.
In any case, this is not good.

the same folks who told us illegal immigration was a myth brought to you by Fox News–Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinformation–Biden was not having cognitive issues (they called it deep fake)–inflation was caused by shortages–Afghanistan was a rousing success— Obama Care would cost $2,500 and you could keep your doctor (Politico called it the lie of the decade).
The above are brought to you by the folks now wondering why so many folks fall for the lies they see permeating the sites mentioned. I wonder how they fell so easily for the lies.?

Your reading list is quite strange. You have no idea whether the messages you read are representative of even one tenth of one percent of the total population. It could be the same few dozens of posters circling the boards every day. Why would you think it could be half the country?
