Soon after the new administration arrived, things began to go missing from the White House website.
They weren’t just the partisan policy platforms that typically disappear during a presidential transition. Informational pages about the Constitution and past presidents, up in various forms since President George W. Bush was in office, all vanished.
Thousands of other government web pages had also been taken down or modified, including content about vaccines, hate crimes, low-income children, opioid addiction and veterans, before a court order temporarily blocked part of the sweeping erasure. A Justice Department database tracking criminal charges and convictions linked to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol was removed. Segments of data sets are gone, some of the experts who produced them were dismissed, and many mentions of words like “Black,” “women” and “discrimination” have evaporated.
President Trump’s team is selectively stripping away the public record, reconstructing his preferred vision of America in the negative space of purged history, archivists and historians said. As data and resources are deleted or altered, something foundational is also at risk: Americans’ ability to access and evaluate their past, and with it, their already shaky trust in facts.
“This is not a cost-cutting mechanism,” said Kenny Evans, who studies science and technology policy at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and runs the White House Scientists Archive at the school. “This slide toward secrecy and lack of transparency is an erosion of democratic norms.”
Excerpt from New York Times

We will always have the NYT website as a historical record – where their reporting was always accurate and never biased – “pure as the driven snow”.

FYI, last time I looked at the White House website (before Trump II), a lot of Trump 1 had been excised while Biden was in office. Where is the NYT article on that?
More importantly, if everything has been removed since President George W. Bush was in office, does that mean that Trump II, deleted Trump 1?
Chaos, the Democrat’s term du jour, has been part of American history/current events since 9/11 and since we started running annual budget deficits, using spending to buy votes – starting with President George W. Bush and Medicare Part D. We’ve gone from $4 Trillion to $36+ Trillion in national debt in the last 25 years!
Since 9/11, many Americans decided George W. Bush was a war criminal. A well known American claimed there was something bad about the First and Second Amendments to the Constitution because some people ‘cling to their guns and religion’. Another “leader” decidd that a substantial minority of Americans are ‘deplorables’. One guy highlighted that there were “good people on both sides’ of the controversy over taking down Civil War statues – only to be pilloried by others who claimed he was equivocating between white supremacists/Nazi’s and protestors on the left.

Most recently, we found out that there are millions of American voters who have been promoted to ‘garbage’ status.
A lot of beltway and coastal crap … as most other Americans labor on focused on their families, jobs, communities, churches … hundreds of millions, today, yesterday, and tomorrow, who never visited the White House web site, and never will.
That said, I am reminded of the old Soviet joke, which I don’t remember exactly, but paraphrased as: ‘Predicting the future is easier than predicting recorded Soviet history.’

Yeah, that’s it. There are no problems we have to worry about. No erratic behavior, no bullying, no revenge, no slash and burn government without a cohesive plan, rational tax policies, no economic irresponsibility. All is well.

Why don’t you get on your soapbox and comment on the NYT protecting Sleepy Joe until it was too late and the cat was out of the bag. Then they rush Kackiling Kamala in without a primary. Lefties like you and the NYT elected Trump now live with it and stop you’re bitching!

I don’t think the White House website isn’t the repository of all things American, specially since it contained items only back to George W. The NYT will just have to poke around for their information like any other true reporters or columnists.
