The latest CPI-W update from June data shows consumer prices accelerated last month, rising 2.6% which, if trends continue will be the 2026 Social Security COLA
According to the 2025 Medicare Trustees annual report, the Medicare Part B premium for 2026 is expected to increase from $185.00 in 2025 to $206.50 in 2026, a jump of $21.50 per month or 11.6%.
Average Social Security retirement monthly benefit = $1,900 X 2.6%=$49.40 – $21.50 =$27.90 net gain.
