Medicaid payments

The OBBB seeks to cut Medicaid spending and end gamesmanship by states that transfers more costs to the federal government.

Medicaid funding is complicated with costs to be shared by the federal and state governments. Each party seeks to lower its costs at the expense of the other.

Claimed saving by the federal government are not savings, but shifting more costs to the states. States may cut fees it pays to providers.

What is lost in all this shifting of costs is that real costs must be paid by someone or those needing Medicaid receive less health care services.
