LISTEN: The Trump administration cut stricter rules for what’s considered a safe amount of salmonella on the chicken you buy at the grocery store. Stephanie Armour tells WAMU’s “Health Hub” how regulatory rollbacks and job cuts could weaken our food safety system.
If there were an outbreak of E. coli or another foodborne pathogen, would you want to know about it? Some scientists at the Food and Drug Administration worry that looser regulations and layoffs could make it harder for people to get that news and protect themselves.

QUINNSCOMMENTARY 
Scanning the above cited reference indicates that a proposed rule of August 7 2024 is being rescinded after the comment period since further consideration is needed. So in the period prior to 8/7/2024 were we protected adequately from salmonella on chicken products and someone saw a need for a change? Or possibly the proposed rule of 8/7/2024 did not adequately address the issue. Seems like someone is trying to gear up a non existent story here.

The Kaiser Foundation is very reputable and I take seriously its views. The further consideration is a creation of the Trump administration, an administration that doesn’t like rules and regulations and in some cases doesn’t believe in science.

OMG, think of the children! If we could only save one life….(unless that life is taken by a criminal illegal alien – in which case it doesn’t count).
Spare us the hysteria. You act like food safely has been entirely eliminated and that nothing can ever be cut or rolled back.
