Does Mr Trump walk with Jesus?

I recently read on TruthSocial that “Jesus sent Donald and Melania Trump to save the world”

Similar posts are frequent.

Social Media has numerous memes depicting Trump and Jesus walking together.

However, as I understand the Bible and other religious books, Mr Trump’s behavior is hardly aligned with their teachings and required behaviors of followers.

You be the judge.

For example:

The Bible consistently calls people to live with love, humility, justice, and faithfulness — reflecting God’s character in how they treat others and conduct themselves. Here’s summary of the main behaviors the Bible emphasizes:

1. Love God and Others

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart… and love your neighbor as yourself.”
— Matthew 22:37–39

This is often described as the core of all biblical teaching. Genuine love for God should show itself through kindness, compassion, and respect toward others.

2. Practice Humility and Forgiveness

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”
— Philippians 2:3
“Forgive, as the Lord forgave you.”
— Colossians 3:13

The Bible calls believers to let go of pride and resentment, showing grace even to those who wrong them.

3. Pursue Justice and Mercy

“What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”
— Micah 6:8

Followers of God are called to care for the vulnerable — the poor, the oppressed, the sick, and the stranger.

4. Live Honestly and Righteously

“The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.”
— Proverbs 12:22
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds.”
— Matthew 5:16

Integrity, honesty, and moral purity are seen as reflections of true faith.

5. Show Compassion and Generosity

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
— Matthew 25:40

Helping others — especially those in need — is central to living out biblical love.

6. Trust and Obey God

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
— Proverbs 3:5
“Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.”
— James 1:22

Faith isn’t just belief — it’s active obedience and reliance on God in daily life.

7. Seek Peace and Avoid Hatred

“Blessed are the peacemakers.”
— Matthew 5:9
“Do not repay evil for evil… but overcome evil with good.”
— Romans 12:17–21

The Bible calls for reconciliation and peace rather than revenge or hostility.

In essence:

The Bible calls people to love God fully, love others selflessly, live justly, act humbly, and walk faithfully— showing God’s character through everyday actions.

And yet, the religious right—primarily white evangelical Christians and conservative Protestants in the US—continues to provide strong, majority support for Donald Trump.

So, a man that regularly flaunts primary religious teaching about behavior, respect for others and acts 180 degrees to what most religions teach, has the support of those claiming to be religious. His support remains at 75–85% among white evangelicals.

Who is fooling who? Who is the biggest hypocrite?

a very flawed man but considering the alternatives you should not be surprised .

Just look at the new hero of the loony left and their communist/socialist leader. He will tax the city back to prosperity like communist/socialists have done in the past.

yes, Trump is a nasty man but crazies on the left make him acceptable to millions.

remember, these folks lied about the ACA to get their nose under the Medicare For All tent, then lied when 2 tranches of subsidies, we were told, would expire this year.

I’ll take the crazy Trump over the crazies who think men should be able to play in woman’s sports or be in female locker rooms.

    1. People throw around communist/socialist and they don’t know what they mean. They are not strong tax supported social safety net programs at all.

Anyone should have know the promises of Obamacare were unrealistic just as the opposing claims were nonsense. All it was is an aggregation process to buy insurance as I explained in a post. It did greatly expand the people with insurance and that benefits everyone.

The debate over subsidies merely points out there is no such thing as a common definition of affordable health care. No matter where we get coverage, we are all subsidized in one way or another- employer, Medicare, Medicaid.

      1. You state: “… The debate over subsidies merely points out there is no such thing as a common definition of affordable health care….”

Not so. Democats, all by themselves, defined “affordable” when passing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 – generally, as premiums that do not exceed 10% of household income. They set the Obamacare minimum standards of “affordable, minimum essential coverage, minimum value.”

Bottom line, Health Reform’s guarantee that every American would have access to “affordable, minimum essential coverage of minimum value” was, is, and continues to be a guarantee of access to high cost, crap coverage.

        See: https://www.benefitspro.com/2023/11/30/is-health-coverage-affordable/

You further state: “… No matter where we get coverage, we are all subsidized in one way or another- employer, Medicare, Medicaid. …”

Just not true. As many as 50% of American households receive various tax preferences and other subsidies that more than offset any taxes they might pay.

Then there are folks who cause to be contributed or who pay substantially greater taxes, income and other taxes, as well as FICA and FICA-Med taxes that far exceed the tax preferences and other subsidies/benefits they will receive over a lifetime.

    1. Why not evaluate the criteria and decide and let us know. You find Mr Trump’s behavior acceptable? What more evidence do you need? Is that how you behave? Given your comment, maybe so, but I hope not.
