Under the U.S. Constitution (Article II, Section 4), the President, Vice President, and all civil officers can be removed from office through impeachment for three specific grounds:
- Treason
- Bribery
- Other high Crimes and Misdemeanors
While “Treason” and “Bribery” are relatively well-defined, the phrase “high Crimes and Misdemeanors” is the most debated and has historically been the basis for most impeachment proceedings.
Understanding “High Crimes and Misdemeanors”
Contrary to what the name suggests, “high crimes and misdemeanors” does not strictly refer to violations of the criminal code. Instead, the term “high” refers to the person’s position of authority rather than the severity of the act itself.
Historically, this has been interpreted to include:
- Abuse of Power: Using the office for personal or political gain rather than the public interest.
- Betrayal of Public Trust: Serious misconduct that renders the official unfit to continue in their role.
- Serious Neglect of Duty: Gross failure to carry out the responsibilities of the office.
- Violation of the Constitution: Actions that undermine the system of checks and balances.

The last time a President was removed from office, it was Nixon in August 1974.
Keep in mind that had Democrats succeeded in driving Nixon from office prior to July 1973, we would have had President Spiro Agnew (who resigned as Vice President of the United States on October 10, 1973, facing charges of bribery, extortion, and tax evasion from his time as Governor of Maryland, pleading “no contest” to a single count of tax fraud to avoid prison.)
Had Biden been removed, perhaps via the 25th Amendment, we would have gotten President Harris – someone who is, was, continues to be a total incompetent.
Any guess as to why Americans voted for Trump, given the opposition?
This is the ultimate slippery slope – removing someone who received 312 electoral votes just a year or so ago, who won the majority of the popular vote, and won every battle ground state. Just as important, what makes you think a third impeachment will result in a conviction this time? Do you think there are 5 Republican House members and 15+ Republican senators who would like to rid themselves of Trump in favor of Vance?
Paraphrasing Omar, from “The Wire” (HBO series), “if you come at the President, you best not miss!”
If Trump is removed now, we would have President Vance. Myself, I suspect those who have Trump in their sights have little respect when it comes to J. D. Vance. So, impeach him too and we have President Mike Johnson?
Those who favor impeachment, with or without conviction are idiots, lunatics, worse than the idiot ass Trump himself.
Sets a very ugly precedent that is likely to be repeated, over and over. Talk about trying to destroy our democratic Republic!

If you stood by and did nothing when 10,000, 000 or so crossed and most illegally you have a lot of chutzpa asking Republicans to remove a president.
If you did nothing when a demented president roamed the halls of the White House refer to the above.

They were already here, many were here for ten or more years, millions were here during his first administration. They make up about 5% of our workforce, most in the least desirable jobs.
Proper vetting, kick out the criminals and logically allowing others to work legally and earn citizenship over the years to the long term benefit of the United States is what should be done, not what is being done.
He has played Americans with hate and scapegoating not unlike what Hitler did with Jews and manipulated average Germans who then had someone to blame for their economic woes.

really the 10,000,000 who came between 2021 and 2024 were already here–have another Scotch!
Obama says he deported 6 million–nobody gave a damn–illegals that were to be deported were handed over to ICE by blue state mayors/governors/police–once Trump showed up the politics showed up-were you as angry when Obama deported 6 million (they were all criminals??)? Different strokes for different folks.
Obama’s plan for illegals was similar to what you propose? Have some fun and go your Google machine and plug in Clinton and Obama on illegals–sure surprised me.
I saw a lot of love in Minneapolis over the last week when agents were treated like trash and lefties invaded a church . Nobody, and especially Trump, has the hate of the left–the “summer of love” in 2020 was despicable.
Of course we know you were manipulated when you fell for all the lies the corpse and his legion were telling–did you really think the corpse was not demented??–or that the border was being breached by millions and millions? I could go on and on.
He’s far from perfect but what’s your alternative???? Newsome?–AOC–Crazy Bernie–Pocahontas–Jasmine Crockett?? Talk about fruitcakes!!!

Between 2016 and 2023 the total illegal immigrant population was about 10 to 10.5 million. In 2025 it is estimated at 14 million, so yes 10 million have lived here for at least ten years including throughout the entire first Trump administration. Then he realized it was a great propaganda issue, the perfect scapegoat for xenophobic Americans looking for someone to blame for their shortcomings.
They are 5% of the workforce and contribute billions each year to SS and Medicare while employed by good old patriotic Americans and American businesses taking advantage of them with low wages and not caring they use false SS numbers.

Based on data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reports, there were record-high levels of migrant encounters during the Biden administration (2021–2025).
While over 10+million encounters were recorded, a significant portion were, or will be, removed.
The net increase in the unauthorized immigrant population from 2021–2023 was roughly 3.5 million to 4 million people, with an additional 2 million+ who entered as “gotaways”. Add another 1.5 million for 2024 and you increased the illegal alien population by 7.5 million.
Within that 7.5 million there were 400+ known individuals on the terror watch list.

So that would mean about 18,000,000 million total? I have searched high and low and can’t find any estimate close to that number.

Not my numbers, government data.
Fact is, the Biden Administration let in so many people, no one has an “official” count. So, the best you can get is an estimate, and I shared with you my sources.
Show me any study/survey where you can offer certainty. It certainly doesn’t exist.
However, 10MM, 11MM, 12MM, 13MM, 14MM, 15MM, 16MM, 17MM or 18MM – that is anywhere from 10MM – 18MM TOO MANY.
We don’t need anyone who wasn’t able to get themselves admitted legally.
Tell me, if we had 10MM or 18MM people here who ignored the IRS, and our tax laws, do you think the IRS would simply let them pass? If not, why do you think ICE should ignore federal law and let people stay?
There is NO good reason for these people to be here, and NO good reason for allowing them to stay.

Murderers? Rapists? Drug dealers? Sure, only why not put them in prison for their crimes? Instead of giving them free transportation home? “Don’t throw me in that briar patch!”
But a thirty year resident landscaper who raised three U.S. Marines; who applied for citizenship, but bungled the paperwork, and had no criminal record? What have you accomplished besides damaging his employer’s small business and putting his citizen wife on welfare/snap?
At great cost to the taxpayer.
BUT IT’S THE LAW! No one is above the law.
If only that were true, Trump would be in prison today

A victimless crime?
In Trumps business fraud trial, his biggest ‘defense’ was not that he didn’t commit fraud, but that ‘everybody does it’ and ‘nobody got hurt’.
The mess in Minnesota, and others, is destructive, disruptive, dangerous, and entirely unnecessary. Past experience has shown that most of the deportees will NOT be criminals or undesirables.
Justice… Tempered with mercy. And common sense.

Well, no problem. Let everyone come here why have any laws at all?
However, keep in mind that my cousin overstayed her visa and was deported as well – when Obama was president. You forget, it was President Obama who helped kill the immigration reform bill in the Senate in 2007.

Trump is an idiot and an ass. However, he is pursuing law enforcement. What is he accomplishing? Law enforcement. Is it pretty? No. However, it was the idiot Biden who, flaunting all of our federal laws on immigration, ended up putting LEGAL IMMIGRANTS at risk as the fool Trump tries to reverse the stupidity.
What’s your position if people stop paying federal income taxes?
It’s just another silly federal law, right?
You will tell the IRS to look the other way, right .. so long as the folks who don’t pay their taxes are not murderers and rapists, too! Right?

You know, I’m on both sides of the thing. I’m the strongest immigration guy that there’s ever been, but I’m also the strongest farmer guy that there’s ever been, and that includes also hotels and, you know, places where people work, a certain group of people work,” the president added.”
(a ‘certain group of people’?)
“We’re looking at doing something where, in the case of good reputable farmers, (and hotels? But not, apparently, landscapers) they can take responsibility for the people that they hire and let them have responsibility because we can’t put the farms out of business,” the president recently said.

Pass a law, amend the law. Until then, enforce the law.

Then came the Biden Administration, who flouted violations of federal law.
You can criticize Trump for his words, I certainly do. However, the Administration’s actions sweep up a lot of folks, some with specific criminal histories, some with only violating our immigration laws.
They can join my relative who was deported by President Obama – after she overstayed her student visa, married a green card holder, had two children, Michael and Julie, and lived the American dream for a couple of years.

You can certainly criticize Trump for his words, but the law is the law?
Insurrection is a law. Trump undoubtedly called a mob to Washington. Even arranged transportation for some, and set them on the Capitol. He sat in his dining room for three hours and watched them brutalize the police, deface the Capitol, and kill Ashli Babbitt.
“I wasn’t responsible for security.”
What the actual f*ck?
Trump undoubtedly stored classified documents in his home and lied to the government about them. Other men have spent years in prison for much less.
“Trump is an idiot and an ass.”
He is also an evil insurrectionist and a felon. A law breaker.
