President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw the United States from 66 international organizations is ostensibly aimed at cutting waste, but the inclusion of agencies supporting girls and women underscores the move’s arbitrariness and vindictiveness. It will have dire consequences for people around the world.
EDINBURGH – On January 27, US President Donald Trump’s second withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement will finally take effect. This follows his announcement on January 7 that the United States would leave an additional 66 international organizations, including 31 United Nations entities and 35 non-UN bodies, now deemed unacceptable to the administration.
Never has a national leader so comprehensively severed ties with the international community in a single month. Nor has a leader blatantly declared, “I don’t need international law,” as Trump did in an interviewwith the New York Times a few weeks ago.
He went on to assert that he alone would be the arbiter of when such constraints apply to the US, and that his power would be limited only by his “own morality.”
Trump opposes immigration, any immigrants. He opposes climate change initiatives, he degrades Muslims, he cares little about healthcare, except his own.
He cares nothing of the international community. He cares nothing about modest and lower income Americans and his actions show it.
I hope he gives a state of the union address. I have no doubt it will demonstrate how low we have sunk in selecting who leads us.
On Jan. 7, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) formally invited President Donald Trump to deliver his State of the Union address on Feb. 24.
Johnson posted a copy of the invitation sent to the president on X. In it, the Speaker praised Trump for his “bold action” and leadership and said the United States “stands stronger, freer, and more prosperous.”

this is what happens when you have a political opposition party that wants to defund the police, defund ICE, have drag queens in 4th grade library classes–have folks use pronouns as descriptions, defend illegals crossing the border in the millions–think men can have babies–tell folks white supremacy is our greatest problem–regulate everything that moves–compares ice agents to gestapo and folks they disagree with as Hitler and Nazis–a party of loons if you ask me–missed purposely a demented president and an invasion of millions of illegals and of course believed DEI would make us a better society.
