Two hundred thirty six years is a long time … well, in the scheme of things it actually isn’t. I was recently in a castle in France that has been owned and lived in by the same family for seven hundred years.
We Americans tend to forget that our Republic is a baby among countries and sadly we tend to forget how much was sacrificed at its birth and each year thereafter. As we grill those burgers, watch the parade and fireworks let’s remember not to take all we have for granted. And let’s not forget the work is never done.
