Republicans are not above the fray trying to convince people that markets will control health care costs and solve the problems within the system or that a voucher like system will fix Medicare, while failing to explain what happens with the costs above the amount of the fixed government payment.
But to date at least the Democrats are the clear winners in playing this political game. Objecting to mandated “free” contraceptive services is a “war on women” they say, premiums driven by executive pay is the problem, health care will be affordable and of higher quality without explaining how that will happen or what it really means to patients.
I am still waiting and have been for years, exactly what is affordable health care? The only thing we know for sure is that a small co-pay for a contraceptive is unaffordable to all women, even the 1%.
