For every action there is a reaction, not a new thought, but still true. Every part of the health care system is reacting to Obamacare. For many people the compliance reactions are good … more “free” care. But there are other changes occurring. For example, physicians are seeking ways to cope with changes, maintain their independence and their incomes. Can you blame them?
The great unheard truth is that to control health care costs, somebody must make less money and given the overwhelming portion of health care costs are … well health care, that means physicians, hospitals and others must generate less revenue or greatly lower their future growth … which in the parlance of the AARP when it comes to lower future Social Security COLAs, is actually a cut in pay. To deal with this, physicians are consolidating practices, forming Accountable Care Organizations and otherwise circling the wagons.
They are also attending conferences on this subject. Take a look at the conference flyer below and the topics on the agenda. “Survive and thrive, opting out of Medicare, cash payments only?” Like I said, for every action there is a reaction, and health care providers are seeking ways to mitigate the negative impacts of Obamacare on them … lower income.
