When the Supreme Court rules on the challenge to Obamacare subsidies, it will rule on four words in the Law, “established by the state.”
If the SCOTUS rules that these words mean the health insurance exchanges established by the individual states, then every American receiving a premium subsidy who enrolled through a federal government run exchange will lose his or her subsidy.
Chaos will result and those who oppose the law will have won a hollow victory.
To fix it Congress will have to make a change in the Affordable Care Act by established by the state.
The big question is, what will Congress do?
In my mind not fixing the Law if necessary is nothing more than a slap in the face for many Americans and mean spirited by unthinking lawmakers. Fix what truly needs to be fixed in the Law and move on to the real problems that need to be fixed in America.
