Some Republicans are as naive as liberals when it comes to health care

Republicans in Congress oppose Obamacare; some on the principle of government involvement in health care and others are simply opposed to the premium subsidies.

As someone who designed and managed health benefit plans for nearly fifty years, I had a good laugh at the subsidy argument. 😃

In case they haven’t noticed, employer contributions toward health benefits are tax-free to the employee and deductible to the employer – tax subsidies ‼️ [this subsidy is the largest single revenue loser for the government]

Many workers pay their share of the premium on a pre-tax basis – tax subsidy‼️

Workers and employers can contribute to flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts on a tax-free basis – tax subsidy‼️

Federal law gives a tax credit to eligible small employers who provide health care coverage to their employees – tax subsidy‼️

Medicare beneficiaries pay a fraction of the total cost of their coverage-tax subsidy‼️

There are many things to be concerned about with Obamacare and that need to be fixed, but trying to kill premium subsidies? Com’n guys don’t be so naive, especially since you don’t have a better or workable idea. 😛
