Following are the current federal poverty guidelines.
Given these guidelines in some measure are reflective of the minimum wage, should we assume that if the minimum wage goes from $7.25 to $15.00 that the proverty guideline for a single person will increase by the same percentage or to $24,219? These guidelines are used for most federal entitlement and support programs.
Now I realize there is not an absolute relationship between the minimum wage and poverty guidelines, but surely there will or should be an impact. On the other hand a full-time minimum wage worker earns $15,080 today still above the proverty guideline.
