How dictators do it?

How is it one person can manipulate a population, gain control of a country and persuade people everything he does is in their interest? Sadly, it is accomplished more often than we would hope.

Here are the common techniques, but in the end it is uninformed people seeking to blame anyone but themselves for their current state.

• Exploiting existing anxieties and frustrations: They capitalize on grievances, blaming external enemies and internal scapegoats. They promise national renewal, economic prosperity, and restoration of national greatness
• Masterful use of propaganda: They employ sophisticated propaganda techniques, including rallies, posters, and social media. They carefully craft messages that resonate with the anxieties and aspirations of the people, using simple slogans, emotional appeals, and visual imagery.
• Demagogic rhetoric: A skilled orator who whips up crowds into a frenzy. They use powerful language, scapegoating, and fearmongering to stir emotions and silence dissent.
• Cult of personality: They cultivate a carefully constructed image as a strong leader, a savior who could restore the country’s former glory.
• Targeting specific groups: Target different segments of the population with tailored messages. They appeal to veterans with promises of national honor, to the working class with promises of economic security and lower taxes, to groups seeking supremacy.
• Oppression and suppression of dissent: They bully, attack opponents, name call, anything to make it difficult for dissent to flourish.
