Kick em out?

The percentage of undocumented workers varies greatly across industries, with some sectors employing significantly higher proportions than others. Here’s a breakdown of the situation:

Pick your own?

CAUTION: These estimates are just that, some estimates say 20% of agricultural workers are undocumented. Nevertheless, many industries are significantly dependent on undocumented workers – and therefore so are you.

High Representation:

  • Agriculture: Around 14.2% of agricultural workers in the US are estimated to be undocumented immigrants. This makes it one of the industries with the highest concentration.
  • Construction: Approximately 13% of construction workers are undocumented. This industry often features manual labor roles that may be harder for native-born individuals to fill.
  • Other industries with high percentages: Apparel manufacturing (19%), building maintenance (19%), dry cleaning and laundry (18%).

Moderate Representation:

  • Accommodation and food services: Roughly 8.4% of workers in this sector are undocumented. This includes jobs in restaurants, hotels, and housekeeping.
  • Administrative and support and waste management: Around 10% of workers in these industries are undocumented. This encompasses various clerical and janitorial roles.

Lower Representation:

  • Personal and other services: This broader category, including hairstylists, childcare workers, and personal care aids, has a relatively low share of undocumented workers at around 6.6%.
  • Manufacturing: This sector also has a lower percentage of undocumented workers, with an estimated 5.7%. However, specific areas within manufacturing might have higher concentrations.

  1. S T O P ! There are programs where Geen Cards are issued to workers to fill temporary positions. Thhise are not the people AMERICANS want removed. We are talking about those who broke the laws on the books. We are talking about those FELLONS who crossed into our country Illegally. Look at the case in NY where 5 illegals beat up t wo NYPD Officers and they were released without bail the next day.

Look at the over load in schools where classes have increased substantially. Look at Chicago where the minority groups are upset o find the illegals getting stypends of a couple thousand dollars.

Look at the drugs that are etting through the boarders. That happens when crouds storm one area of the boarder that ties up Boarder Patrol while drugs flow in unchecked in another areas.

STOP pandering to these folks. Granted they are human beings but we are NOT a santuary country. Send them back.

    1. The people here are not with green cards, they are undocumented illegal residents who use false documents and pay taxes using that documentation. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE of greater crime among illegals compared with other groups. Cherry picking an event is pointless. We need to fix the border problem, but using facts and in a way in our best interest, not inflamatory rhetoric … like tainted our blood.

    2. As always the Mitchells have a conspiracy theory devoid of facts. Question: If you wanted to carry massive quantities of drugs into USA, would you cross a river on foot with a back pack?

  2. The numbers are confusing and difficult to compare. How many thousand cross the border every day?

How many cross at checkpoints (legally) and apply for asylum?

How many cross illegally and apply for asylum. I understand, even though their crossing is illegal, they are still allowed, by law, to apply.

How many are denied and immediately sent back?

How many are released and given call back date?

How many legally cross on a work or tourist visa and overstay?

There is a difference between a refugee and a terrorist, although allegedly many of those coming in are released from jails or mental institutions to poison the blood of Americans?

    Asking for a friend.

    1. That is not the point which is we depend on the labor of millions of illegal immigrants all ready here and we need more (legal) immigrants so we need a way to make that happen not merely close the border while demonizing those at the southern border.

      1. Talking about the PR or scare value. “Invading hordes”.
To be clear, I’ve always thought the wall was a horrible idea. Fellow humans are desperate for help. Not to be used as political pawns.

And if we can be mutually beneficial, even better.

Speaking of disinformation, is it true that the current bill* which many liberals believe goes too far, would probably pass and be signed, if not for one man who shall remain nameless?
I don’t watch Fox, so haven’t seen their take.

*And which no one has read.

      2. Not read a bill!!! Sure shocks me.

Where was the old guy in 2021–2022-2023 with his proposals? How many executive orders did the old guy reverse on illegal immigration? All he has to do is reinstate many of those and we make some progress. What about “Stay in Mexico”–seems he is more than willing not to implement policies in his power to make a difference–obviously egg on their face if they do.

      3. Sure, kick em out. Or, take them into your home, but stop paying able bodied people not to work, and require each immigrant to be sponsored with no welfare commitment – EVER. Those were the rules when my mom legally immigrated here in 1925. Should be good enough for EVERYONE ELSE!

  3. I strongly believe we will not see anything like a mass deportation in this country–people will not stand for that–what most of us want is a large reduction in illegal immigration–when laws are broken on such a large scale it cannot be good for any of us-it gives a sense that we as a people have lost control–that leads to the rise of unsavory politicians and loss of liberty–was it just 2 weeks ago that a million Germans marched in opposition to parties of the “right” and the reason given for the populism of “right” was the immigration issue.

Like James 2 my area has a very large Hispanic population–these folks work hard and do similar type jobs and they are at my house doing numerous repairs–easy to work with and almost always an A+ job.

  4. I noticed that apparel manufacturing and dry cleaning had significant percentages listed. I can’t remember when I last saw a made in USA label on anything I bought. Dry cleaners are getting more scarce in the area I live in. Everyone works in business casual or just casual it seems. The undocumented are working in declining occupations in those categories.
The large concentrations in my area and I don’t know the immigration status of the workers but roofing, framing, and laying of fiber are and have been largely Hispanic. These are mostly first generation from what I understand. They are willing to do hot, hard work but I doubt their kids will be eager to do the same. So we will need to have another wave of immigration in 20-25 years. This will occur until robots take over grunt work I suppose.
