Yeah, I know it’s politics. This is from TruthSocial. But the hot button of healthcare gets a lot of attention and this type of rhetoric is why we can’t do anything constructive to assure all Americans have health insurance coverage, costs are reasonably managed and distributed.
@TeamTrump
Kamala Harris co-sponsored Bernie Sanders’ $32 trillion-dollar socialist takeover of the entire U.S. healthcare system, which would raise your taxes and bankrupt our country
—she supported outlawing all private health insurance that many people have and are extremely happy with
—she pledged to give free taxpayer-funded healthcare to ALL illegal aliens, which will destroy our social security system (not true by the way)
I have Medicare, I’m not part of a socialist takeover. I am quite happy with the coverage. I don’t know anyone who is extremely happy with their health insurance.
Sanders version of Medicare for all was pie in the sky and not affordable. However, that does not mean a universal insurance system built on the foundation of Medicare is not only feasible, but so far the only concept that makes sense if we want every American treated fairly.

How do YOU define “fair”? My health plan participants, and other Americans, taught me that “fair” does not mean “equitable” – vertical and horizontal equity, treating “similarly situated” people the same and “differently situated” people differently, proportionately.
No, when it comes to health care, most everyone I encounter believe it is an entitlement, that “fairness” is where they want the best health care coverage YOUR money will buy.
So it is with Medicare For All – whether the Bernie/Kamala Harris proposal or some other variant. https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-bill/1804/cosponsors
President Obama’s CMS Administrator Berwick confirmed the D’s perspective on universal health care, pining for the British social health insurance system, when he said: “Any health care funding plan that is just, equitable, civilized and humane must – must – redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and the less fortunate. Excellent healthcare is by definition redistributional.”
Not sure why any individual has a claim on YOUR hard earned wealth (or mine). If it were national defense, or something where we are all in it together, maybe. Even then, not sure why the burdens vary so much. I served in the military, I pay excessive taxes.
Universal health care suggests we are all in it together. If so, if we are all in this together, I’ll wait and watch all others catch up to those who gave their lives in defense of our country, as well as those who served in the military, and those who are disproportionately penalized with taxes.

Let’s eliminate fraud and waste, which come from providers padding their pockets! There is nothing Communist about Universal Health Care.

True in part, but a small part overall. Keep in mind what is fraud in many cases is only possible with the complicity of patients – because they don’t care.
Consider the many seniors who have their toenails cut by a podiatrist. That is only eligible for certain diabetic patients, but is wide disregarding or fraudulent claims submitted. Medical transportation is another one.
