Social Security versus Congressional pay raise wrapped in stupidity.

A 5% across-the-board increase in social security benefits would add 5% of $1.6 trillion = $80 billion annually to Social Security spending while also accelerating the insolvency date.

A genius idea❓❓❓❓

The total annual payroll for all 535 voting members of Congress is approximately $93.3 million. A 5% raise would costs $4.6 million annually.

Do the math‼️

If we gave the entire congressional payroll to social security beneficiaries each person would receive an additional $1.32 annually.

Congress has not had a raise in seventeen years. Of course they should have a raise and a pretty good one.
