It is well established that if people hear or read something repeatedly they come to believe what is not true and sometimes not even reasonable or logical. That is because their brain lets them down.
They are trapped by cognitive dissonance.
Critical thinking is the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue to form a reasoned judgment. It involves questioning assumptions, identifying biases, weighing evidence, and evaluating arguments rather than accepting information at face value.
As you read what is posted on social media, listen to the news or a speech or interview designed to influence you, do you employ critical thinking?
The evidence suggests that far too many Americans do not. Not only do they believe what is not true, they repeat it, they support politicians who manipulate them and they act based on false information.

If you are easily manipulated by propaganda and false information, you are a lazy thinker.
