Logic and reason, let alone facts can’t change their mind because…

Trump followers are trapped in his cult of personality. They still believe he is the answer to their grievances, fact based or not. And at this point many seem to have absorbed his deeply disturbing personality as well.

If you believe the President of the United States can simply give you $5,000 or even has the funds to do so or should morally promise such a thing and you support such a person, let alone a politician, you are beyond salvation.

From New York Times 10-2-26 reporting on a Trump Rally in Oklahoma

Several people said they trusted Mr. Trump to continue to lead his party. Teri Tulane, a 60-year-old retired teacher from Asher, Oklahoma, arrived at 7:30 in the morning and stood in the rain until midafternoon before she was finally admitted to the Choctaw Event Center.

I wonder what she taught?

Ms. Tulane, who was wearing a T-shirt that said “TRUMP GIRL,” is paying more for certain grocery items, like beef, but she is glad the price of eggs is down. She said she is a Republican voter because she is fearful of “the way the world is going,” with Democrats embracing socialist policies, including free health care. In her mind, people should have to work for the American dream.

She said she also wants Mr. Trump to stop negotiating with Iran: “Wipe ’em out,” she said. “Sometimes you just can’t be nice.”

Onstage, Mr. Trump praised the U.S. military for “knocking the hell out of Iran,” and said that the war would be over soon. He also praised himself for giving members of the military $1,776 checks. That money, with a price tag of about $2.6 billion, came from military housing funds.

“I never fail people,” Mr. Trump said. “I always come through.”

Mr. Trump again offered a cash prize of $5,000 (costing about $1.3 trillion) to every American adult if his party keeps control, earning some of the loudest applause of the evening.

“Republicans can do it and Democrats can’t,” Mr. Trump said. “We’re taking in massive amounts of money through tariffs and record-setting economic success

Massive amounts of money …?

Bottom line: As of August 2026, the U.S. has collected about $167B in customs duties during FY2026, versus a $1.97T deficit. Even treating all $167B as deficit reduction would leave roughly $1.80T of the deficit. But you can’t count the $167 billion because much of it is being refunded.

So, real world math says $1.97 trillion deficit less max $167 billion tariff revenue = $1.80 trillion deficit plus cash election bribe of $1.3 trillion = new deficit of $3.1 trillion.

And they cheered in Oklahoma
