Why do you support Barack Obama … really

This is an honest question, if you support the President for re-election, tell us why. I really would like to hear a sincere person’s point of view.

Post your views as a comment to this request.

Is it what he has accomplished, his view of the role of government, his philosophy for America on the international stage or anything else you feel is relevant?

Post your comment for the world to see … literally. This blog is viewed by people in every major (and some not so major) country in the world.

No comment or judgement from me, just your point of view.

  1. I support the president of the United States because he has exhibited confidence in those he has appointed to deal with the serious issue of foreign relations, principally the disasters he inherited, the wars that drain our funds and destroy brave men and women gallant enough to serve our country. He acted decisively to order the execution of bin Laden. The candidate who would replace has been disconnected with the the common man throughout his lifetime, professes a religion that has a poor record in accepting blacks as equals, and, as demonstrated in his destruction of paperwork in his service in Olympic management and reluctance to open his tax  history to scrutiny, an odd mistrust of the voters in the nation he would serve. Furthermore, it is possible that if the Romney/Ryan ticket prevails, it may well be accompanied by success in electing enough Republicans to give them a majority in both houses of Congress. If that happens the common man in this country will really take a beating. Nothing in our system is as faulty as that gang of miscreants of both parties who get to Washington in the guise of representing the people.

    1. Why Mitt Romney is Unlikable!

A lot is being said in the media about Mitt Romney not being “likable” or that he
doesn’t “relate well” to people. Frankly, we struggled to understand why.
So after much research, we have come up with a Top Ten List to explain this “unlikablility.”

Top Ten Reasons To Dislike Mitt Romney:

      1. Drop-dead, collar-ad handsome with gracious, statesmanlike aura. Looks like every central casting’s #1 choice for Commander-in-Chief.

      2. Been married to ONE woman his entire life, and has been faithful to her, including through her bouts with breast cancer and MS.

      3. No scandals or skeletons in his closet. (How boring is that?)

      4. Can’t speak in a fake, southern, “black preacher voice” when necessary.

      5. Highly intelligent. Graduated cum laude from both Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School …and by the way, his academic records are NOT sealed.

      6. Doesn’t smoke or drink alcohol, and has never done drugs, not even in the counter-culture age when he went to college. Too square for today’s America ?

      7. Represents an America of “yesterday”, where people believed in God, went to Church, didn’t screw around, worked hard, and became a SUCCESS!

      8. Has a family of five great sons….and none of them have police records or are in drug rehab. But of course,
they were raised by a stay-at-home mom, and that “choice” deserves America ‘s scorn.

      9. Oh yes…..he’s a MORMON. We need to be very afraid of that very strange religion that teaches its
members to be clean-living, patriotic, fiscally conservative, charitable, self-reliant, and honest.

      10. And one more point…..pundits say because of his wealth, he can’t relate to ordinary Americans.
I guess that’s because he made that money HIMSELF…..as opposed to marrying it or inheriting it from Dad.
Apparently, he didn’t understand that actually working at a job and earning your own money made you
unrelatable to Americans. My goodness, it’s a strange world, isn’t it?

      of the State of Michigan

      Working Background:
After high school, he spent 30 months in France as a Mormon missionary.

After going to both Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School simultaneously, he passed the Michigan bar exam, but never worked as an attorney.

In 1984, he co-founded Bain Capital a private equity investment firm, one of the largest such firms in the United States ..

In 1994, he ran for Senator of Massachusetts and lost to Ted Kennedy.

He was President and CEO of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

In 2002, he was elected Governor of the State of Massachusetts where he eliminated a 1.5 billion deficit.

      Some Interesting Facts about Romney:

Bain Capital, starting with one small office supply store in Massachusetts , turned it into Staples; now over 2,000 stores employing 90,000 people.

Bain Capital also worked to perform the same kinds of business miracles again and again, with companies like Domino’s, Sealy, Brookstone, Weather Channel,Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama, Home Depot Supply and many others.

He was an unpaid volunteer campaign worker for his dad’s gubernatorial campaign 1 year.

He was an unpaid intern in his dad’s governor’s office for eight years.

He was an unpaid bishop and state president of his church for ten years.

He was an unpaid President of the Salt Lake Olympic Committee for three years.

He took no salary and was the unpaid Governor of Massachusetts for four years.

He gave his entire inheritance from his father to charity.

Mitt Romney is one of the wealthiest self-made men in our country but has given more back to its citizens in terms of money, service and time than most men.

And in 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $4 million to charity, almost 19% of his income…. Just for comparison purposes, Obama gave 1% and Joe Biden gave $300 or .0013%.

      Mitt Romney is Trustworthy:

He will show us his birth certificate

He will show us his high school and college transcripts.

He will show us his social security card.

He will show us his law degree.

He will show us his draft notice.

He will show us his medical records.

He will show us his income tax records.

He will show us he has nothing to hide.

Mitt Romney’s background, experience and trustworthiness show him to be a great leader and
an excellent citizen for President of the United States .

You may think that Romney may not be the best representative the Republicans could have selected.
At least I know what religion he is, and that he won’t desecrate the flag, bow down to foreign powers,
      or practice fiscal irresponsibility.

I know he has the ability to turn this financial debacle that the current regime has gotten us into. We won’t like all the things necessary to recover from this debt, but someone with Romney’s background can do it.

But, on the minus side, he never was a “Community Organizer”, never took drugs or smoked pot, never
got drunk, did not associate with communists or terrorists, nor did he attend a church whose pastor
called for God to damn the US .

How much did you know about Barack Obama in 2008?
What do you know about Barack Obama now?

    2. Oh yeah, and let’s discuss your approving of his Foreign Policy. Have you seen what has resulted in overthrowing Mubarak of Egypt in the “name of so-called democracy”???

Muslim Brotherhood operatives have begun crucifying those who oppose the newly elected Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, also a Muslim Brotherhood leader. The United States, at the behest of the occupant of the White House, aided the Muslim Brotherhood in taking over Egypt in the name of “democracy.” Since the election, Morsi has dismissed all of the pro-American military leadership and replaced them with Muslim Brotherhood commanders; he has moved to improve ties to the terrorist group Hezbollah; and he is slated to hold a summit in Iran this month–the first official visit to Iran by an Egyptian president since 1979. This is the fruit of American foreign policy.

The longstanding murderous power struggle over Islamic domination between the Sunnis and Shiites seems to be reaching a more civil level. Last week, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad attended a summit in Mecca at the invitation of Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah. The two appeared friendly to the public and Ahmadinejad was seen welcoming other participants side by side with Abdullah. They also sat next to each other during meetings. The main public relations value was that they were showing unity to the Muslim world. The Sunni Egyptian rift with the Iranian Shiites appears also to be mending at the highest level possible as Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood reaches out to Hezbollah and Iran.

There will be many Muslims who will oppose the fence mending. And they are to be crucified or beheaded according to the Koran–Sura 5:33: “Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land.” One is considered waging war against Allah if one disagrees with the Islamic leadership–a mixture of government, religion and military.

There are many verses in the Koran that instruct Muslims to kill Christians, Jews or ANYONE that opposes. Islam is not a peaceful religion.
This is a deceiver and an antichrist.” The Koran specifically says that Allah has no son. Koran Sura 23:91 says, “Never has Allah begotten a son, nor is there any other god besides Him.” America’s foreign policy is supporting the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood’s goal is to establish global Islamic rule that the messiah of Islam will return, the Mahdi, and establish the peace of Islam on earth for seven years. What has this Adminstration done?

It IS known that Obama has appointed more people in his Administration that are followers of the Koran, than ever before him.
So unless you’re a Muslim that follows the KORAN, prepare to flee for you life.

How’s that Foreign Policy working for ya, my friend.

  2. I will vote for Obama because I beleive he is fair. His approach is to treat all members of our society as equals. I beleive he recognizes that everyone was not given equal talents and so those less fortunate are entitled to at least some minimal care, that is on a social and economic basis. If the health plan turns out to be his signature piece of legislation which it may be, then I will say he was successful as others have tried and failed. His defiance of DOM act is another reason , his inclusion of GLBT in their right to serve openly and to marry is another, his decision to allow illegal youth to become members of our society is another. His handling of what everyone admitted was the worst financial plight since the great depression was another. His defense of the environment was another , his reasoned approach to the oil gas business interests is another. He has elevated the international image of the USA back to where it was before Bush destroyed it. His handling of foriegn affairs has been better than average given all the problems it has faced with the Arab spring Iran, Europe’s financial plight, . He did make the decision to get Hussein and the mission was successful for which he gets little credit yet had it failed he would be lambasted. Finally remember he did much of what he accomplished with a hostile congress, just imagine what he might have done with a more willing house membership. The other side has had their way for better than 11 years and I will say that trickle down economics doesn’t work and so we need to change the tax code and start to allow the reverse approach to take hold adequately tax the wealthy offer good economic incentives to corporations willing to stake their investment in this country and lets see if we can create a better economy with that type of apporach not just a bottom line gift to the wealthy.

    1. I told Dick on FB that I would not touch his request with a 10′ pole but couldn’t help be read these posts and it struck an open wound.
Yup you must believe in Socialism. “EQUALITY of ALL”. My generation worked HARD to get what we have. Unlike the NOW generation that wants everyting given to them. That is the problem here. Sit on ones ass, have babies and let the governement pay me. Why work! What ever happen to working for what you need. I worked many years to get to retire comfortably. I worked damn hard to get ahead and it paid off. Why should we ALL be equal. What will happen, is everyone will just slack off so they can get what ALL the other slackers get.
Now, as far as illegals getting benefits without being a legal citizen of the US. Why should I pay for that. If they want the same benefits as us, enter the the US legally and become a citizen, then we will talk benefits. Oh yeh, he did not get Hussein, Bush did. He claims he got Bin Laden. I guess the Seal’s didn’ do it. Funny as BO didn’t even serve in the military, instead he decided to encircle himself around redicals. Wow he sure is a great man. NOT!

  3. I, too am really afraid of Republican economic and social agendas – pretty sure they wouldn’t pursue the stated economic policies – their social agenda is really scary – my thoughts on the economy: – we are in a totally global economy – nearly every other nation and all of those who have stolen our jobs have government subsidized industries and manipulated currencies – when Obama subsidized our industries, the Republicans screamed “Socialism” – I remember a political science prof at the University of Iowa who said, “Whatever kind of government this nation ever has, we will call it a democracy” – back in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, we sent our amateur athletes to the Olympics to compete against the professional athletes from all of the other countries and we didn’t do so well – now our professionals are going to the Olympics and kicking butt big time – so if it takes government subsidized industries to win the global economic battle, so be it – let’s compete on a level field, call it a democracy and win the global economic war

So you object to foreign governments subsidizing the cost of products you buy here in the US?
