When I was a boy, this was a forest and pastures and corn field. Then it was turned into a corporate park (to gain more tax revenue). The parking lots and entrance to the buildings were dotted with trees. Last year they cut the trees down and replaced them with the steel monstrosity you see here.
But they had a good reason you see. On top of that steel work are solar panels. So in the name of saving money, the environment or corporate political correctness we have this abomination. Ain’t progress just grand? Why don’t we just build this type of thing over every roadway we have?

Get Green, Quinn! – Are these scenes worse than the oil spill in the gulf? Perhaps you would prefer to remain energy dependent upon the MIddle East fanatics dedicated to eradicating our nation? You preach daily that Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid cannot continue unchanged. Do you believe dependency upon Middle East oil can continue unchanged? We are not going to run out of wind and we are not going to run out of sun. You preach for a wonderful future for your grand children on many issues. Why not on energy and global warming, too?

Hey I’m all for green but we don’t have to destroy our environment in the process. These have nothing to do with oil. No electricity in this state is generated with oil (or coal). We currently get a small percentage of our oil from the Middle East. We need better ideas and better technology for solar instead of what we do now. That goes for wind too. A few decades from now and we will look at out deserts and hills and fields and oceans and ask what have we done to create this ugly mess.
