I have no idea who Josh Duhamel is, but apparently he is an equally uninformed person who has no problem putting pure nonsense on his Facebook page. Someone posted his link on my Facebook page which is how I found this. In recent days there has been a spike in hits on this blog related to Congress and it’s pay and benefits, perhaps now I know why. Let me say once again as I did in several previous posts, this is inaccurate and stupid and whomever wrote it has no idea what they are talking about. Congress does participate in Social Security, Congress has not received any raise or a rise exceeding 3% in many years, Congress participates in employer health benefits just like over 100 million Americans do, Congress is not overpaid or paid for life, members of Congress contribute toward their pension which they only receive after at least five years of service and then based on years of service.
Nearly ten thousand know nothings have “liked” his post leading one to believe that if you see it on the internet it must be true as the girl in the commercial dating the French model says.
There are two things we can do to correct the problems we see with members of congress; vote them out of office and push for term limits. However, make no mistake that unless we want to turn Congress over to only wealthy citizens, the average American cannot afford to serve in Congress as intended without a good compensation and benefits package.

Don;t you just love the internet. A venue where idiots can post garbage and make people believe it is true, “just because it is on the internet”. Good post Dick. I saw this on my FB page also. It was worth a good laugh though.
