Build it and they will come … or maybe not. This is not good
PRINCETON, NJ — Most Americans who currently lack insurance say they are likely to get it for next year, as required by the 2010 Affordable Care Act, also known as \”Obamacare.\” But a substantial minority, currently 28%, say they are more likely to pay the government fine imposed for not having insurance. The percentage planning to pay the fine has changed little in the last month, even as the 2014 deadline for having insurance draws nearer.
The latest results are based on Nov. 20-Dec. 2 Gallup Daily tracking of uninsured Americans\’ awareness of the healthcare law\’s requirements and their intentions of getting insurance.
Gallup estimates that 17% of U.S. adults currently do not have health insurance. With 28% of the uninsured group not planning to get insurance, assuming they follow through on those intentions, that would mean a minimum of 5% of all U.S. adults would be uninsured, leaving the U.S. short of its goal of universal coverage.
An average of 28% since September say they plan to pay the fine.

no it is not good for in the end we will all be paying much more for this well conceived re-distribution of wealth program. so if this dog can’t stand on its own feet look for the current administration to funnel huge sums of money to the insurance company s…remember its the law and it must be followed, anything to defend the legacy for the O man.

Quinn, you continue to smear the PPACA on your blog. That’s your right. It’s your blog. However, you mirror the Tea Party racists in Congress who are opposed to everything and in favor of nothing. What is your plan to ensure that 40,000,000+ American citizens can buy health insurance for the first time in their lives? What is your proposal to prevent insurance companies from denying coverage to 129 million people with pre-existing conditions? What is you solution to insurance companies imposing lifetime limits on healthcare benefits? What is your alternative to allowing children to be covered on their parent’s policies until age 26? Why can’t you write positive and pro-active ideas to help move this nation into the family of all other civilized nations that provide universal healthcare insurance for their citizens? Are you a creator and a doer or merely an obstructionist?

How in the world do you conclude presenting some survey results is smearing the Affordable Care Act? Isn’t it a fact that enrollment by lower risk individuals is essential?
About that age 26, do you think a person employed with health insurance from their employer should be able to enroll under a parents plan to the detriment of that employer and it’s workers?
You can remove all limits, all underwriting and add as many mandates as you like as long as you are willing to pay for them. That doesn’t make it sound policy.

Thanks for responding, but no thanks for not answering my questions. The issue is UNEMPLOYED people under the age of 26. Get real. Why can’t you write positive and pro-active ideas to help move this nation into the family of all other civilized nations that provide universal healthcare insurance for their citizens? Are you a creator and a doer or merely an obstructionist? If you have constructive thoughts and ideas for improving healthcare insurance in America, let us read them. You come across exactly like John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan and, most notably, the foreign born idiotic political terrorist Cuban half-breed senator, Ted Cruz. I don’t know how large your reader base is, but why not write your proposals to improve the life of our citizens? POTUS has three more years to achieve PPACA success and it will happen because 40 million+ people want it and need it.
