This from a recent Rasmussen poll:
As tensions remain high with Russia, voters are narrowly divided over whether the United States should pull its troops from Western Europe.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 36% of Likely U.S. Voters think the United States should remove troops from Western Europe and let the Europeans defend themselves. Thirty-nine percent (39%) oppose removing U.S. troops from Western Europe. One-in-four (25%) are undecided.
What is this, 1936? Americans have a short memory. US troops in Europe have already been reduced to the point their presence no longer sends a message to the Putins of the world. We want to avoid aggression and, of course, war. You don’t do that by running from the bully.
In reality we should be increasing our troops in Europe to send a strong signal of the power and determination of NATO. Yes, many European countries do not pull their weight or contribute their fair share. That’s another problem for our diplomats, but it doesn’t change the fact we must present a strong united front against aggression and subversion… to avoid armed conflict.

Left unmentioned is how many of those 36% have any idea how many troops we have in Europe or where they are stationed. Naturally, most could not find Ukraine on a map, or tell you anything about the history of Ukraine as a victim state of Soviet domination and murder by starvation in the 30’s, and Russian style economic blackmail since the 1990’s.

Putin is interesting. I’ve been virtually following him since the beginning of his rule.
One thing for sure… we don’t know the real Putin.
He is truly a… ” riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. ”
